Principal Profiles
John Murphy is a Managing Member with Oxburgh Row and currently serves as the Business Valuation Chair for the Houston Chapter of the ASA. He began his financial services career during the 1990s with one of the most prestigious and innovative business valuation firms in Houston and he has extensive experience with minority interest valuations of limited partnerships, limited liability companies, asset holding companies, operating entities, ESOPs, estate and gift tax, and family law matters. John has performed valuations and litigation support for a wide variety of industry segments nationally, with the most numerous and prominent engagements centered around medical, dental, and energy entities.
As a result of his accomplishments during a nineteen year career in the financial services sector, John is widely respected for his expertise in disciplines that include forensic analysis, business interruption, mergers and acquisitions, partnership dissolution, dissenting stockholder disputes, and purchase price allocations. Additionally, he helped develop a proven personal goodwill allocation model that has been accepted by Family Court, Tax Court, and ERISA review, and is currently utilized by other valuation firms.
John earned a BBA in Finance from Eastern New Mexico University and an Associates in Applied Science from the United States Air Force Academy. He obtained his business valuation accreditation with the American Society of Appraisers in 2002 and has served as the Vice President and the Treasurer for the Houston Chapter of the ASA.
